NBA superstar Luka Dončić of the Los Angeles Lakers won’t play against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday (12/23).
Dončić has a lower left leg contusion. He suffered the injury on Saturday (12/20) against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Lakers lost to the Clippers by a final score of 103-88.
A five-time All-Star, Dončić has appeared in 21 games this season for the Lakers. He’s averaging 34.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game while shooting 45.8% from the field, 32.0% from beyond the arc and 80.7% from the free-throw line.
Dončić, 26, leads the NBA in points per game. He’s looking to win his second scoring title. The former Dallas Mavericks star went off against the Utah Jazz before the Clippers game, putting up 45 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists.
“He’s just so damn good,” LeBron James said about Dončić. “It’s ridiculous.”
The Lakers are 19-8. They are in fourth place in the Western Conference standings.
