The Milwaukee Bucks have already made some of the boldest moves of the NBA offseason—and now, one trade idea has them making another aggressive swing to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In a proposed three-team deal from Sports Illustrated’s Jackson Caudell, the Bucks would land Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro, a first-time All-Star, in a deal built around draft capital and flexible pieces:

  • Milwaukee Bucks receive: Tyler Herro
  • Miami Heat receive: Kyle Kuzma, AJ Green, Milwaukee’s 2031 first-round pick, 2032 pick swap
  • Atlanta Hawks receive: Andre Jackson Jr.

The framework is speculative and not based on reported negotiations, but it fits the win-now urgency that has defined Milwaukee’s recent decisions.

Bold Offseason Set the Stage

The Bucks shocked the NBA landscape earlier this summer by waiving Damian Lillard and stretching the remaining $112.6 million on his contract across five seasons. That cap-clearing move allowed them to sign Myles Turner to a four-year deal worth up to $108.9 million, with the Pacers center bringing elite rim protection and three-point range.

Turner averaged 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks while shooting nearly 40% from deep last season, and Milwaukee sees him as a strong fit next to Giannis. The team also retained younger talent like Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins, hoping internal development can boost their depth alongside veteran stars.

Tyler Herro Would Give the Milwaukee Bucks a New Look

Adding Herro would give the Bucks a scoring guard capable of operating both on and off the ball. The 25-year-old averaged 21.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 4.3 rebounds last season for Miami, earning his first All-Star nod. In Milwaukee, he’d likely be featured as a primary option in the backcourt following the team’s decision to move on from Lillard.

For Miami, the trade proposal offers a long-term outlook. After trading Jimmy Butler last season and failing to make it past the first round in two straight years, the Heat may eventually pivot to a rebuild. Gaining future picks and financial flexibility could help reshape their roster around Bam Adebayo and other younger pieces.

While there’s no indication that talks are ongoing between the involved teams, the deal reflects the level of urgency Milwaukee is willing to operate with. The Bucks have made it clear: they’re all-in on maximizing Giannis’ window—and more big moves may still be on the table.
