The Toronto Raptors have pursued Anthony Davis of the Dallas Mavericks and Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings and they could add Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies to their pursuit, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

The Raptors are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are known for making big trades, as they acquired Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs in 2019 and Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans last season.

“The Raptors are the only other known team beyond Washington to express any meaningful interest in Trae Young before he was dealt to the Wizards, have pursued both Dallas’ Anthony Davis and Sacramento’s Domantas Sabonis … and I’ve also been advised to keep an eye on them when it comes to Memphis’ Ja Morant,” Fischer wrote.

Davis has decided not to undergo surgery on his left hand and the Mavericks have had renewed trade talks around the future Hall of Famer, who is expected to miss six weeks with ligament damage in his left hand.

Sabonis is currently out because of a torn meniscus in his left knee. It’s unknown when the lefty will be cleared to play.

Finally, the Grizzlies and Morant have mutual interest in parting ways.

Davis is making $54.1 million this season, Sabonis is making $42.3 million and Morant is making $39.4 million.

The 2026 NBA trade deadline is February 5. The Raptors are 25-17. They could become a championship contender with Davis, Sabonis or Morant in the fold next to Ingram and Scottie Barnes.

It will be fascinating to see if Toronto makes a blockbuster trade this season. Darko Rajakovic’s group is 23rd in the NBA in points per game, so it’s evident they need another dynamic offensive player alongside Ingram and Barnes.
