Toronto Raptors Interested In Trading For Dallas Mavericks’ Daniel Gafford

The Toronto Raptors are interested in trading for Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford, according to NBA reporter Josh Lewenberg of TSN.
While the Raptors have been linked to Mavericks star Anthony Davis, they are unlikely to trade for the future Hall of Famer.
Gafford is averaging 8.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season. He signed an extension with the Mavericks in the offseason, but Gafford is widely regarded as the most tradeable Dallas player, sources told DallasHoopsJournal.
A talented lob threat, Gafford is making $14.4 million this season. The 27-year-old Arkansas product is shooting 61.4% from the field and 79.1% from the free-throw line for the Mavericks, who could overhaul the roster after firing Nico Harrison as general manager.
Gafford was the 38th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls. He has career averages of 9.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game with the Bulls, Washington Wizards and Mavericks.
The Raptors are 16-11. They are in third place in the Eastern Conference standings and looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2022.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks are 10-17. They are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings.
NBA reporter Christian Clark of The Athletic reports that Dallas is “signaling a desire to be competitive for the rest of the season,” so Gafford could remain on the Mavericks.
Dallas announced last week that Dereck Lively II is out for the season due to a right foot injury. If Gafford gets traded, the Mavericks will be thin at the big man position.
