The Denver Nuggets have deep trade interest in Jaylen Brown, who is frustrated with the Boston Celtics.
Brown has been in trade rumors all offseason. The Celtics offered him to the Milwaukee Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who wound up getting traded to the Miami Heat.
The Nuggets would probably have to trade Jamal Murray or Aaron Gordon to land Brown to match salaries.
Denver and Boston lost in the first round of the 2026 playoffs. The Nuggets lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in six games, while the Celtics fell to the Philadelphia 76ers in seven games.
Brown will make $57.1 million next season. He signed a five-year, $285 million extension with the Celtics in 2023. One year later, the Celtics won the championship against the Dallas Mavericks in five games, with Brown winning Finals MVP.
Denver won the 2023 title against the Heat in five games. However, the Nuggets haven’t gotten past the second round of the playoffs since then despite having Nikola Jokić.
Along with the Nuggets, Brown has been linked to the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers in trade rumors this offseason. The All-Star forward doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.
Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game for the Celtics this past season. Boston won 56 games and was the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Jayson Tatum missed the first 62 games of the regular season recovering from his Achilles tendon tear. Brown carried Boston on his back, which is why he’s upset the Celtics have been dangling him in trades.
A five-time All-Star, Brown put up 25.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in the Celtics-76ers playoff series. Tatum didn’t play in Game 7 and Boston blew a 3-1 series lead to Philadelphia.
Brown has career averages of 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in the regular season and 19.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in the playoffs. The California product was the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
