An NBA trade proposal sending Jaren Jackson Jr. from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Portland Trail Blazers has been created.

NBA writer Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report created the following trade proposal between the Grizzlies and Trail Blazers:

Portland Trail Blazers Acquire: Jaren Jackson Jr., Scotty Pippen Jr.

Memphis Grizzlies Acquire: Jerami Grant, Scoot Henderson, 2028 first-round swap (via MIL), 2029 first-round swap (via MIL), 2030 first-round swap (via MIL)

This NBA trade proposal pairs Jackson Jr. with Deni Avdija and Shaedon Sharpe. Damian Lillard will return from his Achilles tendon tear next season, so the Trail Blazers could be very dangerous with Jackson Jr., Avdija, Sharpe and Lillard leading the way.

“A three-time All-Defense honoree who took home Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, Jackson Jr. is arguably the most complete two-way big man around,” Hughes wrote. “He can shoot it from deep, put the ball on the floor, defend the rim and smother guards on switches.

“That’s the kind of reliable, star-level production that could get the Blazers into the West’s top six once they get Lillard back next season. There’s risk in surrendering all three of those Bucks swaps—and in effectively giving up on Henderson—but Portland has missed the Play-In four years running and has shown enough this season to prioritize a near-term upgrade.”

Jackson Jr. is making $35 million this season. The big man is averaging 19.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game this season while shooting 47.9% from the field, 36.3% from beyond the arc and 78.2% from the free-throw line. He’s considered one of the best centers in the NBA.

A two-time All-Star, Jackson Jr. has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. He won the 2022-23 Defensive Player of the Year Award.

The Grizzlies need to trade Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant and rebuild. The franchise has only won one postseason series in the Jackson Jr.-Morant era.

The 2026 NBA trade deadline is February 5 at 3 p.m. ET. It will be fascinating to see what Memphis does with Morant and Jackson Jr.
