Indiana Pacers center Ivica Zubac won’t play again this season.
According to Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star, Zubac suffered a fractured rib in Wednesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers and will miss the rest of the season.
The Pacers acquired Zubac from the Los Angeles Clippers in February. The talented big man played in just five games with Indiana, averaging 11.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 47.2% from the field and 80.% from the free-throw line.
Indiana has the worst record in the Eastern Conference this season, but the team projects to be a championship contender next season since All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton will be back. The Pacers will have “Big 3” of Haliburton, Zubac and Pascal Siakam in 2026-27.
“Pascal can score in a bunch of different ways,” Zubac said after the Pacers traded for him. “We can run four or five pick and roll. Tyrese, one of the best in the league at what he does. Moves the ball, involves teammates, leads on the court. That really excites me.”
Zubac has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and Pacers. He enters next season with career averages of 10.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
