Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers capped off one of the most remarkable rookie seasons in league history Friday, earning All-WNBA Second Team honors. The 6-foot guard was the only first-year player selected to an All-WNBA Team this season.

A national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters voted for the league’s postseason awards, which included the All-WNBA teams. The selection adds to an already extensive list of accolades for Bueckers, who also claimed WNBA Rookie of the Year, AP Rookie of the Year, and All-Rookie honors from both the WNBA and the Associated Press.

The First Team featured Las Vegas Aces forward and league MVP A’ja Wilson, Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas, Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray, and Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell.

Joining Bueckers on the Second Team were Seattle Storm forward Nneka Ogwumike, Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young, New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, and Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston.

Dominant Rookie Campaign Defines Historic Season

Over 36 games, Bueckers averaged 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 47.7% from the field and 33.1% from three-point range. She finished top nine in the WNBA in scoring (5th), assists (9th), and steals (6th) — the only player to appear in all three categories. Her 20.3 efficiency rating ranked first among guards and seventh overall, making her the lone rookie among the league’s top 19.

Bueckers’ debut season also delivered several record-breaking moments. She became the third rookie in WNBA history to record at least 690 points and 190 assists in a single season. Her 44-point performance against the Los Angeles Sparks on Aug. 20 set a new league record for the highest single-game scoring output by a rookie.

The No. 1 overall pick out of UConn opened her career with 30 straight double-digit scoring games — the third-longest such streak in WNBA history, trailing only A’ja Wilson (33 in 2018) and Candace Parker (32 in 2008). She also notched 17 games with at least 20 points, tied for the fifth most ever by a rookie.

Breaking Barriers for the Dallas Wings and Beyond

Bueckers’ arrival transformed the Wings’ offensive rhythm, leading to new franchise rookie records for points, assists, and points-assists double-doubles (2). She also became just the 10th rookie in league history to start in a WNBA All-Star Game and received over 805,000 fan votes — the most ever by a rookie.

Her All-WNBA selection makes her the first Wings rookie to receive the honor and the eighth overall in franchise history. Dallas now joins a short list of teams with at least one All-WNBA honoree in three straight seasons.

Bueckers also became one of four players — along with Allisha Gray, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston — to earn All-WNBA honors for the first time this year. In recognition of their achievements, all Second Team members, including Bueckers, will receive a $5,150 bonus.
