Cooper Flagg Not Listed On Dallas Mavericks Injury Report Against Portland Trail Blazers After Hand Injury Scare

Cooper Flagg will play Friday night in Portland. The Dallas Mavericks rookie was not listed on the official injury report ahead of tonight’s game against the Trail Blazers, clearing him to play despite leaving Wednesday’s 142-135 loss against the Denver Nuggets with his right hand heavily wrapped and iced after an awkward fourth-quarter landing.

Flagg finished the game with 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists on 10-of-18 shooting despite the injury, and wasn’t concerned when speaking to reporters postgame.

“Doing okay,” Flagg said. “It’s tough — a lot of minutes, back-to-back overtime games, physical games. Just got to take care of my body and get ready for the next one.”

The 19-year-old is averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 61 games this season.

Daniel Gafford (right shoulder sprain) was ruled out for a second straight game, while Kyrie Irving (left knee surgery), Dereck Lively II (right foot surgery), and Caleb Martin (right plantar fascia strain) remain sidelined. Moussa Cissé and John Poulakidas are both doubtful with their G League two-way designations. Tyler Smith is probable.

Tip-off against the Portland Trail Blazers is set for 9 p.m. CT at Moda Center.
