According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Milwaukee Bucks are telling teams that Giannis Antetokounmpo is not available in trade talks.

The Bucks, who are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings, want to acquire a wing.

“Despite a surplus of outside noise, the Bucks have remained steadfast that they want to continue building around Antetokounmpo, and he’s not for sale, while actively gauging the trade market for upgrades, including on the wing, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto wrote. “In fact, rival executives interested in trading for Antetokounmpo who’ve spoken with HoopsHype said they don’t believe Milwaukee wants to move him right now.”

The Bucks have lost in the first round of the playoffs three years in a row. Antetokounmpo has grown tired of losing, so his future is certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Before the season, Antetokounmpo requested a trade and wanted to be traded to the New York Knicks, sources told DallasHoopsJournal. However, Milwaukee and New York didn’t agree to a deal.

A top 75 player of all time, Antetokounmpo is making $54.1 million this season. He has a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027-28 season. The power forward doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.

It’s unknown when Antetokounmpo will return to the Bucks’ lineup. He’s currently out with a right calf strain.

A future Hall of Famer, Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game this season while shooting 63.9% from the field and 63.5% from the free-throw line.

One of the greatest players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, one-time Finals MVP, one-time Defensive Player of the Year and nine-time All-Star. He holds career averages of 24.0 points, 9.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Along with the Knicks, Antetokounmpo has been linked to the Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers.
