According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in Coby White of the Chicago Bulls and Collin Sexton of the Charlotte Hornets.

The Timberwolves are looking to trade for a point guard.

“Our publisher wrote over the weekend that Chicago has been more open to Coby White inquiries than ever before and I’m told that Minnesota has indeed checked in on him, but White’s looming unrestricted free agent status next summer certainly offsets some of the attractiveness of his comparatively modest $12.9 million salary,” Fischer wrote. “I’ve likewise heard that Minnesota has conducted some diligence on Charlotte’s Collin Sexton. The Wolves seem to be intent on establishing their range of options at the position.”

Minnesota is 19-10. Anthony Edwards and Co. are in fifth place in the Western Conference standings.

White is making $12.9 million this season in the final year of his contract. He becomes an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

Meanwhile, Sexton is making $18.9 million in the final year of his contract. He also becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer.

White is averaging 21.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game for the Bulls this season. The UNC product, who has spent his entire career with Chicago, is shooting 44.2% from the field, 29.8% from beyond the arc and 79.3% from the free-throw line.

The Hornets acquired Sexton from the Utah Jazz this past offseason. The Alabama product is averaging 15.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game this season while shooting 48.9% overall, 36.6% from 3 and 87.9% from the foul line.

Along with the Jazz and Hornets, Sexton has also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
