LA Clippers Trade Norman Powell to Miami Heat in Three-Team Deal

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN, the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and Utah Jazz have pulled off a blockbuster trade.
The Clippers are getting John Collins from the Jazz, the Heat are getting Norman Powell from the Clippers and the Jazz are getting Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson from the Heat and a 2027 Clippers second-round pick.
Powell will make $20.5 million next season in the final year of his contract. The scoring guard averaged 21.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists for the Clippers last season in 60 games while shooting 48.4% from the field, 41.8% from beyond the arc, and 80.4% from the free-throw line.
Collins picked up his player option for next season worth $26.6 million. The power forward averaged 19.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists for the Jazz last season in 40 games while shooting 52.7% from the field, 39.9% from beyond the arc, and 84.8% from the free-throw line.
Love will make $4.2 million next season in the final year of his contract. The NBA veteran averaged 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists for the Heat last season in 23 games while shooting 35.7% from the field, 35.8% from beyond the arc, and 69.6% from the free-throw line.

The Jazz missed the postseason last season, the Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round in seven games and the Heat lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round in four games.
Love, who won the 2016 NBA championship with the Cavaliers, is not expected to remain with the Jazz. He will likely get bought out and become an unrestricted free agent.
